CReed Global Media is seeking a Marketing and Communications or Public Relations Specialist, who is full of creative ideas and eager to contribute on a large scale. This position will allow you to gain new skills, and work with multiple projects, clients and brands that are constantly expanding. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including various social media sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to website redesign projects, monitoring and posting on blogs and social networks, engaging in online forums, participating in online outreach and promotion, optimizing our website and conducting keyword analysis. Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as requested by staff to ensure all necessary tasks are performed in a proficient manner that adheres to the quality expected from the company.
- Update and maintain social media presence, including scheduling posts, creating content, etc.
- Develop, draft, distribute and pitch news/press releases, media alerts and other stories.
- Design flyers, graphics, evites and other marketing material for major events.
- Media relations, including pitching, researching and scheduling interviews as needed.
- Assist with organization of executive photos, photo opportunities and events.
- Attend events and capture moments that highlight our brand/s and clients for marketing use.
- Build and maintain relationships with both local and national media.
- Build and maintain press kits, sponsor and partnership materials.
- Post logos and organizational summaries to industry services, related web sites and publications.
- Have technical knowledge and can build websites/landing pages to support marketing.
- Follow up with members of the media to track and ensure placement.
- Proof written materials for style, grammar, etc., with great attention to detail.
- Plan and execute special events, as needed.
- Monitor the impact of marketing plans, including revenues, and make adjustments accordingly.
- Write advertising copy.
- Electronic and social media marketing efforts.
- Direct mail and marketing efforts.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals in the Houston area with a passion and interest in Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, Business, or Communication. MS Suite and Adobe experience is a must, and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this position.
- Energetic, go-getter, and ready to embark upon an adventure.
- Has own and reliable transportation.
- Has an updated and secure laptop or tablet with required programs and mobile phone.
- Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space.
- Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field.
- Previous internship/experience in marketing or communications is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop highly desired. Knowledge of graphic design a plus.
- An effective communicator, both written and oral with all staff, clients, press and community contacts.
- Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Experience with social management platforms is a plus.
